my family was invited to our family friend's wedding down in virginia back in june, i wanted to post of pictures of the occasion because it was just a great trip all in all!

these are pictures from a weekend or two spent at my beach house.

the first picture is of my sunglasses, watch, and new patio table.

i have a thing for mason jars, there's something about them that makes me love them so much! they remind me of "olden days" and of home. at home, we use mason jars for our kitchen glasses, as opposed to what normal people have as drinking glasses (ha!) so in the second picture i'm using it as a wine glass :)

the second picture is of two flowers from my mom's garden at our beach house, a beautiful rose and poppy!

and lastly of the beautiful sunset/sky over our house as we ate dinner. i ran quick inside just so i could grab my camera and capture it before it fell completely behind our house!

well i've gotten back into blogging, after a very long time of not doing so! in may i went to my dad's airport and he took me for a spin in his plane, a Cessna Sky Hawk. here are just a few pictures from the trip, it was such a great afternoon!

blue valentine...aka rip my heart out

SO, i'm no movie critic, and i won't try to write like one, butttt i must scribble my two cents about derek cianfrance's blue valentine! i saw it on saturday and wow, talk about heart wrenching. i was happy to find ryan gosling and michelle williams in a hipster's dream, dancing, singing, loving. then sad to watch their marriage deteriorate. go see blue valentine, but here's the caveat: prepare to have your heart ripped out, it's insanely adorable and sickly sad.

in italy, it is safe to say that food is everywhere. you can't walk 5 minutes without passing a tabacchi (a typical convenience store that can see everything from lotto tickets to a cup of cappuccino) or a latteria, macelleria, pasticceria, etc etc. i have had so many great opportunities and experiences with food since being in italy. which sounds like a lame and "fatty" thing to say, but it is the truth. the italians pride themselves on their art of the kitchen. anything and everything you can eat, should be eaten. i've stuck to the basics of the italian cuisine, though mistakenly by the advice of a family friend, i think i might have tried cow intestine, trippa. barf. in fact i wikipedia'd it, and i did. oh well, it tasted, well, yummy and that's the furthest i'd like to discuss on the topic....ANYWAYS, besides my random indulgence in the insides of cows, i do enjoy a pretty regular gelato, the daily salami, mozzarella, and tomato panino, etc.
